Should I get Travel Insurance?

We recommend both third-party travel health and trip cancellation insurance as well as the resort's change for any reason waiver.  Most third-party plans will offer coverage for trip-cancellation and medical costs.

While the ship does have a medical facility onsite for routine health issues and emergencies, your medical insurance likely will not cover medical expenses on ship or overseas. A serious matter involving medical evacuation or long-term injury could be extremely costly - sometimes over $30,000.

There are inexpensive options to make sure you are covered, often under $20-40 US per person. Many of these plans include a "sports rider" or similar coverage that will include coverage for sports injuries (like SCUBA diving, snorkeling, etc.). While these plans may or may not cover a BDSM related injury, we recommend that you purchase a travel insurance plan with sports rider coverage.

Trip Cancellation v. Travel Medical - know what you are buying

Note the difference between travel insurance and travel medical. Travel insurance usually is focused on cancellation, lost luggage, trip delays, etc; but is more expensive. Travel medical plans usually cover things

like medical expenses and emergency medical evacuation, which is key.  Some travel insurance plans have both. At the very least you want to have medical. Some plans cover both, but will be the most expensive.

UHC Safe Trip,   GeoBlue, and Travel Safe are examples of options that have medical only plans and/or full travel insurance coverage with cancellation and medical. Other companies that you may want to consider include: Travel Guard, or Allainz. Many of these, such as Allainz, also offers an annual plan that bundles trip cancellation and delays, and often is far less expensive than a single trip plan if you travel a few times a year or more.

Please note that Concations and Bliss Cruise are not responsible for your travel insurance, medical needs, or injuries while traveling.
