What Can (and Can’t) You Bring Onboard

Created by Concations Staff, Modified on Wed, Apr 1 at 6:55 AM by Concations Staff

Kinky Cruise aboard the Celebrity Silhouette is a full-ship charter designed for our community. That means the environment is intentionally kink-friendly, and yes—people routinely bring full toy bags, gear, and equipment without issue.

Security Screening – What to Expect

All guests and luggage go through a standard cruise security process:

  • Bags are scanned (similar to airport/TSA-style screening)

  • Carry-on items may be inspected

  • Security staff are experienced and professional

These ships—and this charter—regularly accommodate kink groups and onboard dungeon setups, so seeing bags with toys, restraints, and gear is not unusual.

The Big Picture Rule

Kinky Cruise follows the policies of Celebrity Cruises (part of Royal Caribbean Group).

? You can review their official policy here:
https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/prepare#what-not-to-pack

Simple rule:

  • If Celebrity allows it → you’re fine

  • If Celebrity prohibits it → it may be held by security. Don't bring candles, sharp objects or knives or scissors with with blade length more than 4 inches, police-style handcuffs, or professional looking self defense gear

Not-So Simple rule:

  • Celebrity rules prohbit categories of items like "weapons"  "and other items that could interfere with the safe operation of the ship or the safe and secure environment of our guests and crew"

  • We get that might be vague in some situations, and creates uncertainty with respect to certain items for kink toys such as metal cuffs or restraints.

  • For anything in gray areas, it will come down to the discretion of the secuirty screening agent. IFor items that may be more likely to be considered a weapon or security concern for the ship, such as professional looking police or military type tools, etc., you may want to leave it at home.

What About Kink Gear?

In Practice:

You can typically bring without issue:

  • Toy bags (yes, full ones)

  • Impact toys (floggers, paddles, etc.)

  • Restraints (including cuffs but see above about handcuffs or metal restraints)*

  • Rope, outfits, accessories

These items are commonly brought onboard and expected on this charter. Many attendees (and hosts) travel with extensive gear collections.

Where Caution Applies

Occasionally, an item may be flagged if it:

  • Clearly resembles a weapon

  • Appears unusually heavy-duty or industrial, or for police or miliatry use

  • Raises a safety question during screening

This is rare, but possible.

What Happens If Something Is Confiscated?

If an item is not allowed onboard:

  • It is typically held by ship security

  • You will receive a notice or claim ticket

  • The item is returned to you at the end of the cruise (disembarkation)

This is standard cruise practice for prohibited items that are not illegal.

Important distinction:

  • Prohibited but legal item → held and returned

  • Illegal item → subject to applicable law (do not bring)

Items You Should NOT Bring

Per Celebrity policy (see link above), prohibited items include:

  • Weapons or weapon-like items

  • Illegal drugs (including marijuana/CBD, even if legal at home)

  • Open-flame or heating devices (candles, hot plates, etc.)

  • Hazardous chemicals or flammable liquids

  • Certain self-defense items

  • extension chords and power chord outlet splitters

Safe Packing Checklist for Dungeon Gear

This is not about limiting what you bring—it’s about making your arrival smooth and stress-free.

Recommended Packing Approach

  • Use a dedicated toy bag or organizer

  • Keep items neatly packed and visible on X-ray (don’t over-compress or wrap excessively)

  • Group similar items together

Gear That Typically Travels Easily

  • Rope (natural or synthetic)

  • Floggers, paddles, crops

  • Leather cuffs and restraints

  • Collars, harnesses, soft gear

  • Silicone and standard sex toys

Gear to Pack Thoughtfully

  • Metal restraints (generally fine, but pack neatly)

  • Heavy or rigid items

  • Anything that could visually resemble a weapon

Best Practices

  • Avoid packing anything illegal

  • Do not attempt to disguise items

  • If you’re unsure about a specific item, consider a backup version

Electrical Items FAQ – Power Cords, Splitters & Chargers

Because Kinky Cruise sails on the Celebrity Silhouette, all electrical items must follow Celebrity Cruises safety rules. Here is a clear, focused breakdown of what is and is not allowed when it comes to power and charging.

Key points:

  • Bring your normal chargers and USB hubs
  • Do not bring anything that creates additional wall outlets
  • If you need extra reach for medical equipment, the ship will handle it
  • For most guests, a good multi-port USB charger will cover everything you need without any issues.

Allowed: Standard Chargers & USB Power

These are completely fine and commonly used onboard:

  • Phone and device charging cables (USB-A, USB-C, Lightning, etc.)
  • Standard wall chargers (“charging bricks”)
  • Multi-port USB charging adapters (plug into a single outlet, no surge protection)
  • USB charging hubs (low wattage, personal electronics only)

In short: if it’s a normal charger that plugs into a single outlet and powers personal devices, you’re good.

Not Allowed: Extension & Outlet Expansion Devices
Celebrity’s policy generally prohibits anything that expands or redistributes power from a wall outlet:

  • Extension cords
  • Power strips
  • Surge protectors
  • Outlet splitters (anything that turns one outlet into multiple outlets)
  • Multi-plug adapters that create additional standard outlets
  • Even compact or travel-sized versions of the above are typically not permitted

    Key Distinction (Important)

    • USB expansion = OK
(One outlet → multiple USB ports for low-power devices)
    • Outlet expansion = NOT OK
(One outlet → multiple 120V outlets)
  • That’s the simplest way to think about it.

    Medical Exception (CPAP, etc.)

If you need additional reach for a medical device:

    • Do not bring your own extension cord
    • Request one onboard from your room attendant
  • The ship can provide approved extension cords for medical use, which is the proper and accepted solution.

VAPE WARNING: NO VAPES IN MEXICO

Mexico implemented a strict nationwide crackdown in January 2026:

  • Importing vapes is illegal (this includes bringing one in your luggage)
  • Selling, distributing, and marketing vapes is illegal
  • Applies to all types: disposables, refillables, nicotine, and even non-nicotine devices
  • YOU MAY BE ARRESTED IF YOU ARE CAUGHT WITH A VAPE DEVICE IN MEXICO.

FAQ Summary:

  • You should feel comfortable bringing your gear.
  • This charter is built for exactly that. Attendees routinely travel with full toy kits, and the crew is accustomed to it. The goal is not to restrict your experience—it’s simply to align with standard cruise safety policies.
  • If something unusual does get flagged, it will typically be held and returned to you at the end of the trip.
  • Pack smart, bring what you love, and get ready for an incredible week onboard.
